Welcome to Scrimmage (“we,” “us,” “our”). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users (“you,” “user,” “coach”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

This App is designed to be a platform for baseball and softball coaches to find, connect with, and schedule scrimmages with other teams. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is collected automatically through your use of the App.

A. Information You Provide to Us

Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, and a password.
Team Profile Information: To make the App functional, you will create a team profile. This information includes:
- Team Name
- Sport (Baseball or Softball)
- Age Division (e.g., 10U, 14U)
- Skill Level (e.g., Rec, Travel)
- Home Field Location (City, State, or specific address if you choose)
Communications: We collect the content of messages you send and receive through the App’s private chat feature. This is necessary to enable communication between coaches.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

Usage Data: We may automatically collect information about how you access and use the App, such as the features you use, the teams you view, connection requests you send, and the dates and times of your activity.
Device Information: We may collect information about the mobile device you use to access the App, including the device model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:

To Provide and Operate the App: To create and manage your account, display your team profile to other coaches, facilitate connections and scheduling, and enable in-app communication.
To Personalize Your Experience: To show you relevant teams based on your location, age group, and skill level.
To Improve Our Services: To understand how our users interact with the App so we can fix bugs, develop new features, and enhance the user experience.
To Communicate With You: To send you service-related announcements, security alerts, and support messages.
To Ensure Safety and Security: To protect against fraud, abuse, and to enforce our terms of service.

Your information is shared in the following ways:

With Other Coaches on the App: The core function of the App is to connect coaches. Therefore, your Team Profile Information (Team Name, Age, Skill Level, Home Field City/State) will be visible to other registered users of the App. Your name may also be visible as the contact for the team.
When You Connect and Chat: When you accept a connection request from another coach, you grant them the ability to send you messages through the in-app chat.
With Third-Party Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors who perform services for us, such as cloud hosting (e.g., Amazon Web Services) and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics). These providers only have access to the information necessary to perform their functions and are obligated to protect it.
For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Children’s Privacy

The Scrimmage App is intended solely for use by adults (coaches, team managers, and league administrators) over the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

As a user, you agree not to enter any personally identifiable information of any minor (e.g., player names, player contact information, player photos) into your public-facing team profile.

If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.

Access and Update: You can review and update your account and team profile information directly within the App’s settings.
Account Deletion: You can delete your account by contacting us at the email address below. Please note that some information may be retained in our records for legal or administrative purposes.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
